It is December 31st, we leave for our SAS on the 11the of January and we still do not have our passports/visas which were promised to be back to us on the first week in December. The office informs us we will have them on or before January 5th. Getting nervous, but hopeful that the new year will be the best ever.
Tonight we will go to the First Night event in downtown Delray Beach...always fun!!
Happy New Year to everyone.

Linda's Birthday
We just got back from a little road trip to New Orleans where we met Nancy and Katie for yet another luscious meal at Drago's. All of the food there is excellent, but the charbroiled oysters are especially...mmmmmm!!
At Katie's suggestion we had a tasty burger at Port of Call on Esplanade. We went back to Delachaise and Louisiana Pizza kitchen and added the Blue Plate Cafe for lunch and breakfast. Thankfully, we walked over 8 miles one day and several miles another. We left NOLA heading to Grayton Beach, Florida...a little piece of paradise!! As always the Provow's (Scott, Leslie, Liz and Matt), the Buzzett's (Billy, Kelly and Wells) and Gap Haynes put on their hospitality hats and again made us feel like part of the family. So, Linda's actual BD was spent in Grayton with good food, wine and company. The lunar eclipse and the bonfire that Matt and Wells built made it all the more memorable.
We are now back in Delray Beach getting ready to head to the Florida Keys to celebrate Christmas with my parents and my older sister and her family from Tennessee and NYC. Then later Christmas Day we'll go to Boca Raton to be with Norma, John, John Michael and Jennifer.
Meanwhile we are busily getting everything together for our Semester at Sea trip which starts January 12th. We leave on the 11th for Nassau, Bahamas to board the ship. We are so excited and looking forward to meeting everyone on board and experiencing so many different cultures around the world.

Past Adventures of Tom and Linda
Linda and I met in the ICU of Boca Raton Community Hospital in 1972 where Linda was working as a nurse and I was working in the blood gas lab and going to Florida Atlantic University full-time earning a degree in Biology/Chemistry. On our first date we went skydiving on an absolutely beautiful afternoon as the sun was setting. After the chute opened we enjoyed the view of both the Atlantic Ocean and the Everglades. All was well until the landing when Linda broke her leg...ouch!! This was on Saturday and she was back to work on Monday. We married a few months later.
On our first anniversary we traveled to Mexico for several weeks on a very small budget, taking local transportation, experiencing a different culture, meeting wonderful people and cherishing every second of that trip. We have not stopped traveling since.
We have traveled to over 40 countries, many (Costa Rica, Mexico, Bahamas) up to 30 times. Our method of transportation has been varied: hiking, our sailboat, car, bus, train and air. Many ask which are our favorite trips? They have all been amazing, but the following definitely are just a notch above:

Many ask which are our favorite trips? They have all been amazing, but the following definitely are just a notch above:
- Sailing the Bahamas for 6 months
- Lake Titicaca
- Hiking the Inca Trail for 5 days to reach Machu Pichu.
- 8 days on the Amazon
- Dia de Los Muertos in the Patzcuaro area of Mexico
- Seven week driving trip to Mexico
- Inti Raymi in Cotacachi, Ecuador
- Galalagos
- Exploring China
- Christmas Markets along the Rhine
- Spain and Portugal
- Italy
- Czech Republic
- Costa Rica, our second home!!
We have been lucky enough to see almost all of the states in the U.S.A. and many areas of Canada. Some our favorites are:
- Jackson, Wyoming (those beautiful Tetons)
- Southern Utah
- Black Hills of South Dakota
- Our parents house in Georgia Mountains
- Living in the Florida Keys
- Beautiful Grayton Beach, Florida where we have so many special friends.
- The Maritimes of Canada
Without exception, regardless of place and time, we have met so many incredible people whose friendship we cherish.
